Caswell Beach is now open to residents with ID and will open to the general public on Monday, September 24. Holden Beach expects to be open to the general public mid-day today. There may be additional flooding today/tomorrow in low lying mainland areas until all rivers have crested. Routes into the county are still limited. Please refer to www.DriveNC.gov for updated road information. #CAREolinas

North Carolina's Brunswick Islands

Thank you to everyone for your payers and well wishes. Most of our islands fared very well during Florence with minimal structural damage. Oak Island, Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach are open to residents and general public. Holden Beach is open to decal holders only at this time. Bald Head Island remains under a state of emergency. Due to flooding, many major roads into Brunswick County and around eastern North Carolina remain closed. If you booked accommodations for this week or next, please contact your hotel or vacation rental manager for the status of your accommodations. #CAREolinas ...

Great news !

Holden is always the last to make a decision. Every beach around them is open.

Does anyone know if the road going to Sunset Harbor is open ?

Karen

Glad to hear all this!

That’s wonderful news!

So thankful to God. Prayers continue for everyone in the Carolinas.

We are coming Saturday for a week long stay. Hopefully the roads traveling to get to OIB will be in better shape. Thankful that OIB didn't suffer too much damage from Hurricane Florence. I guess it's a benefit from South facing Island.
